How to Effectively Reduce Work & Life Stress with an Easy to Do Craft

The Stress I Was Under Forced Me to Make Changes in My Life

The purpose of The Scrappy Flower Campaign is to promote the health and wellness benefits of crafts and hobbies. So, here’s a little more about my stress and the health and wellness benefits I get from my hobbies and crafts.

I’ve been under a lot of stress these past few years. I actually quit my job as an admin manager working for doctors during the pandemic because I’ve never been sicker and have never been treated more poorly as a human being.

The serious lack of empathy and understanding I received from my job and bosses combined with my REAL need to get better forced me to quit my career to focus on my health. Something I do not regret for a moment but has been a very long and difficult journey.

I have made some excellent progress on my health goals and stress reduction during this time. I have never felt better or looked better in my life.

The Hobbies and Crafts I’ve done have been key to my success! So, I’m really excited to share with you some of the tools I use to improve my physical and mental wellbeing.

The Tools I used to Get Healthy and Reduce Stress

Walking and Yoga (both great hobbies for stress reduction), plus crafting have been my major tools to recovery.

How I Survived When My Stress Relievers Were Taken From Me

So, this past year when I got struck with Bells’ palsy and got so sick I couldn’t even do my normal crafting, I was devasted! I was absolutely miserable.

It was the actual worse time in my life. I was so lonely and sick, and couldn’t even do a craft to make myself feel better.

It was awful. I wouldn’t wish that feeling on my worst enemy.

But I’m strong and creative! I thought there has to be something I can do to make myself feel better.

So thanks to YouTube and all those millions of craft videos out there, I found some paper flowers to make. So, I made a few with the paper from my recycling bin, and really had fun!

The Secret to My Stress Reduction Success

My favorite part to making scrappy flowers is prepping the paper: scribbling like a mad woman while I work my stress out! This is also the part that lifts my spirits the most because it’s super fun!

So, if you make some Scrappy Flowers, and I really hope you do! Don’t forget to properly prep your paper! This is the secret ingredient to stress reduction. You can write bad words, listen to loud music and scribble your stress out for the day. Screw that B! F That S! 🙂 Try it, you might like it!

Have some Fun! Get some Stress out! Go have a Mental Health Craft Break.

Make some Scrappy Flowers this weekend and work some stress out! 🙂

If you make a scrappy flower. Even if you just get to the scribbling section, please share the with me. I’d love to see your Scrappy Flowers. Please use the contact form on the website or connect with me on Social Media #TheScrappyFlowerCampaign
