This past year, I started officially scheduling Mental Health Craft Breaks into my weekly schedule as a part of my therapy recovering from serious illness, work burnout and unemployment stress.
It’s been an amazing therapeutic tool! One of my favorite crafts breaks is to make Scrappy Flowers: paper flowers using scraps from the recycling bin.

My Scrappy Flower Craft Breaks have been a key ingredient to making through and surviving this past year.
By focusing on making something (doing a craft) as a way to get better, it helps keep my hands busy , as well as my mind busy, as I work away on my fun craft project.

So, I thought I’d share a recent Scrappy Flower Craft Break with you in hopes that it’ll encourage you to take a Mental Health Craft Break too!
It’s an excellent way to destress and unwind!
I’m working on a proper tutorial to show you how I make my flowers from recycling. But in the mean time, here is a quick demo of my destressing processing when making Scrappy Flowers.

Check out the Scrappy Flower Craft Fun Page to find helpful flower making and other craft tutorials that are great in helping you hold your own Mental Health Craft Break.
